Hartland High School

Enrichment

Our school's enrichment programme is designed to cultivate well-rounded students who are not only academically successful but also prepared for life beyond the classroom. By engaging in these activities, students learn the value of hard work and perseverance, developing the discipline, resilience, and strong work ethic essential for any future career. Beyond individual achievement, our programme emphasises kindness and collaboration, empowering students to discover their passions, build crucial life skills, and become compassionate, capable individuals ready to make a positive impact on the world.

We will formally launch this year's programme at our Enrichment Fayre on Thursday 18th September, where students can explore the full range of opportunities on offer. Sign-ups for all enrichment activities will take place via the MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) app, allowing both parents and staff to monitor student attendance effectively.

Last year's activities included a wide variety of sports such as trampolining, as well as creative writing groups, Lego STEM club, and guitar clubs. We are also pleased to continue offering free 30 minute fortnightly guitar lessons with a specialist peripatetic teacher.

Additionally, we maintain strong affiliations with Reading Rockets, a leading basketball club based in Reading. The club provides an exceptional player pathway, ranging from junior basketball camps all the way to senior professional teams.
