At Hartland High School, we believe that recognising and celebrating student success is essential to creating a positive, motivating school culture. Our comprehensive rewards framework ensures that hard work, kindness, and high attendance are acknowledged daily, weekly, and termly.

Daily Greetings and Shout Outs

Every morning begins together, allowing us to build a calm, consistent environment, check pastoral wellbeing, and set a positive tone for the day. These daily greetings provide a dedicated space to celebrate individual and team achievements, including student "Shout Outs" for exceptional effort in class and on the sports pitch.

Weekly Recognition

• Student of the Week: Heads of Year award this title to students who consistently embody our core values of "Work Hard and Be Kind". Selected students receive a physical ticket, recognition in greetings, and a letter home to parents.

• Attendance Stamps & Swap Shop: Students maintaining 100% weekly attendance earn stamps on their attendance card. Every Monday lunchtime, these stamps can be exchanged for prizes at our Swap Shop.

• Attendance Prize Draw: Every Friday, all students with 100% attendance for the week are automatically entered into a draw to win £5 vouchers, with winners announced across the school.

• Fun Friday Rewards: We host regular Friday activities to bring a sense of togetherness and fun. We also use this time to celebrate a wide range of achievements, tracking merits and homework completion to reward top performers with an assortment of prizes. We also host whole school community perks throughout the year, such as hot chocolate during winter or free fruit for "Snacktember".

• Celebration Assemblies: Weekly year group assemblies provide a formal platform to highlight student achievements, showcase progress, and present awards in front of peers.

End of Term Rewards Week

To keep students motivated over the longer term, we host an exciting "Rewards Week" at the end of every term. Students who consistently demonstrate excellent behaviour and attendance earn places on special reward trips, activities, and school wide celebration events.
