Best Start in Life Family Hubs

The aim is to make sure everyone gets the right help at the right time, so that children can thrive and reach their potential. That’s why there are developed Best Start in Life Family Hubs across Reading.

Reading Family Hubs offer information, advice and support for different stages of family life:

  • From pregnancy and early years

  • Through childhood

  •  The teenage years, up to age 19 (or 25 for young adults with special educational needs or disabilities).

More information can be found here. If you have any queries about the Family Hubs, you can email FamilyHub@reading.gov.uk.

Reading Services Guides

There is also lots of information on local support, services, activities, advice and guidance on the Family Information Service main website, (0-18 and up to 25 for SEND) and the Reading SEND Local Offer (0 to 25 years).

Support for Families

There are a number of drop in sessions where families can access support located at the Whitley Children's Centre & South Reading Community Hub (252 Northumberland Avenue, Reading RG2 7QA). The link to the timetable is here.
